Biosmart GmbH has been founded in May 1996. Biosmart GmbH is a start-up company which further developed the knowledge in PCR-food analysis at the University of Bern (Food Chemistry Group).

Biosmart GmbH offers its expertise in the following areas:
GMO, allergen analysis, and species differentiation as well as the detection of viruses and bacteria. Since 2000, Biosmart GmbH is an accredited Type C laboratory according to ISO 17025, i.e. Biosmart GmbH is authorized to develop, validate and perform proprietary test methods for accreditation purposes.

The combination of a multiple room approach and a one-direction approach allows to work without contamination since 1997.
